At a time our society is slowly opening its conservative mind towards destination weddings, this couple decided to take a step further and went for an adventure wedding.
Ratheesh and Aswathy's love story itself is connected to an adventure trip that happened way back in October 2014.

Ratheesh is currently based in Dubai and Aswathy is an Assistant Professor at St Teresa's College, Ernakulam. The couple met through their common friend Meera during an Onam celebration at Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul, where Aswathy was pursuing her PhD in English Literature.  The next day the couple along with their friends went for trekking at Sirumalai and during this trip, they realised that they have similar views about life.

Their next trip was to Kutladampatti Falls and at there on a tree top Ratheesh proposed to Aswathy and she said yes. According to him, he was sure about the Everest wedding plan from that moment itself.

After some initial hiccups, they met from both the families the couple along with three others (their common friend Meera and two of the bride's cousins) commenced the trip of their life on May 5. The trip was made possible with the help of Adventure Nation who organises various kinds of adventure trips.

After confronting and resolving various challenges they reached the base camp on May 15.

The freezing climate, which at that day was at -12-degree celsius, didn't fail this amazing couple's resolve and all decked up in traditional Kerala attire, they tied the knot at 3:40 in the evening!

The couple who are now back from the trip conducted a traditional wedding reception for all those who missed out on the adventure.

The high-profile wedding was attended by royals, including Prince William and his brother Prince Harry. The bride wore a pristine white wedding gown by Giles Deacon which was accessorised with a pretty tiara and carried a cute bouquet which included peony, sweet pea, astilbe, freesia, waxflower, green bell and alchemilla mollis.

The wedding was followed by a grand reception at the Middleton family's expansive family estate in Bucklebury which was elaborately decked up for the function. A stunning 150-feet glass marquee was erected in the estate's backyard to house the guests.

To keep the function out of the eyes of media a strict 'no social media' rule was put up by the couple. A strict mobile phone ban was also enforced at the reception area. The guests were asked to hand over their phones and were encouraged to take pictures at the photo booth arranged inside.

The reception was also attended by Prince Harry's current girlfriend Meghan Markle and tennis star Roger Federer.

Couple caught up in traffic has their first dance on highway

Have you ever thought about what you will do if you get stuck in a heavy traffic while en route to your own wedding? Well, it will definitely speed up your heart beats, especially if you are a Hindu bride/groom. Remember we have to tie the knot within the auspicious time.

A couple from the US Jeff and Rebecca Payne had a similar experience on their wedding day. Luckily (not sure of that) the couple were stuck in the traffic on their way to the wedding reception hall (normally a 10 minute drive) not the actual ceremony.

They were stalled along with the wedding party for an hour in a giant traffic block caused by an accident. While they were in the car a fellow motorist spotted them and suggested to do their first dance then and there itself.

The wedding party too loved the idea and after their persuasion, the couple got out of the car and did a slow dancing to Alison Krauss’ “When You Say Nothing At All,” which one of the bystanders played for them through a car stereo.

While the newlyweds and the wedding party enjoyed the dance other motorists watched and filmed the happy couple taking one of the first steps into their new life.

The couple was finally freed from the gridlock when one of the friends of the groom's father pulled up in the opposite lane and took them to the wedding reception.

‘Bellary king’ conducts Rs 500 crore lavish wedding amid cash crunch

The wedding of 21-year-old Brahmani Reddy to industrialist Rajiv Reddy will stay in the news for a long time as the extravaganza and the opulence with which former minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy organised his daughter's wedding have managed to raise many eyebrows.

The reported 500 crore wedding budget has irked many and is reportedly under the radar of income tax sleuths.

The multi-crore wedding was attended by more than 50,000 guests, including many politicians from both the ruling and opposing parties and numerous celebrities from Telugu, Tamil and Kannada film industries.

As the tainted former minister who is out on bail was banned by the Supreme Court from entering Bellary, he recreated his hometown in Bangalore Palace grounds.

The enormous set which was erected for the wedding was based on the erstwhile empire of Vijayanagara, completed with temples of Hampi and Tirupati. The ancestral houses of both the bride and the groom were recreated on the 36-acre palace ground and a replica of the bride's former school was also erected there.

The Tirupati temple recreated at the palace grounds by the art team he hired from Bollywood was complete with seven doors of the famed temple that led up to the wedding ‘mandap’ fashioned like the original temple which was adorned with a 10-feet idol of Lord Balaji.

The inside of the wedding hall was also like a royal palace with fountains, pillars with intricate designs, orchids and other ornamentals flowers adored all the wall. While, the bride and her family were adorned in diamonds and gold from head to toe, the utensils used for the wedding rituals were either gold or silver.

According to reports, the bride was wearing a wedding saree worth rs 17 crore and her diamond jewellery is worth about rs 90 core!

The wedding procession on the previous day included artistes and dancers from different parts of the country and also many Samba dancers from Brazil.

Well, those who know Janardhan Reddy is not surprised with this opulence, as the mining czar believe he is the reincarnation of the powerful Vijayanagara King Krishnadevaraya!

Other than the ministers, MPs, MLAs and other politicians the wedding was attended by many film stars, including Tamil actors Vishal, Radhika, Meena, Telugu actors Brahmanandam, Sharath Babu, B Sarojadevi, Malashri, Saikumar, Sadhu Kokila, Suman, Kannada stars Puneeth Rajkumar, Ravichandran, Geetha Shivarajkumar, director Sai Prakash, Jayanthi, Dwarakish, Jaggesh, Srinath, Ganesh, Bullet Prakash etc...

Well, the wedding extravaganza didn't end there the couple and their families had a procession on Wednesday evening on chariots just like the erstwhile royal families. The festival is still on and the couple and some of the guests will now travel to Bellary in special aircraft where rest of the bash will take place.

Meanwhile, speculations are going on the source of the former minister's income as his assets were frozen by the court earlier and he was in jail for the past 4 years, he took a right step while selecting the return gifts. All the wedding guests were given sandalwood and tulsi saplings along with a box of sweets as return gifts!
