Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik gets engaged to wrestler boyfriend

Olympic bronze medalist wrestler Sakshi Malik got engaged to her wrestler boyfriend Satyawart Kadian on Sunday in Rohtak, Haryana. The engagement was held at Sakshi's house and was attended by close family members from both sides.

 

Later Satyawart’s father and Arjuna awardee Satyavan Kadian told the media that though the engagement was fixed a long time ago the wedding date has not been finalised yet. "They both are wrestlers so they have to chalk out dates out of their schedule of endless tournaments. So, we cannot say right now about the wedding,” he said.

Satyawart, who is also a wrestler, trains at his father’s akhada in Rohtak. He first came to limelight after he won a bronze medal at the 2010 Youth Olympics, he later won a silver at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Sakshi and Satyawart have said to be fell in love during wrestling tournaments.
 

After the recently concluded Rio Olympics Sakshi has become a national hero with her bronze medal in the women's 58kg category.

 

Sakshi in an interview after her Olympic victory had hailed Satyawart for supporting her career.
