The South Indian women's love for Kanchipuram weaves is pretty famous all over the world. They are our 'special occasion' attire. But if you are bored of wearing your 'special' saree, again and again, the same way for various occasions then these DIY methods are for you. This way you could rock any wedding with your unique look.
The simple way is to mix and match the fabrics. Match your Kanchipuram saree with a net or sequins blouse or a halter neck blouse to give it a fresh look. You can also pair an ikat blouse with a plain Kanchipuram saree.
Combine two different sarees in contrast colours to create a new saree. You could create it in such a way that the frontal folds of the saree and pallu part will be in two shades.
If you know the trick then block print innovative designs to give your saree a new look.
If you want to totally change the look then there are ways to convert it into something stylish.
a. An ankle-length Anarkali suit. Pair it with silk cigarette pants.
b. An ethnic kurta.
c. An ethnic skirt with lots of flares. Pair it with a basic white shirt or can also wear with the silk ethnic kurta in contrasting colours.
d. A colourful gown with an ethnic touch.
e. A palazzo or wide legged pants.
f. A vibrant dupatta that will be a perfect match for any monochrome salwar set.
g. The leftover fabric could be used to create a matching little pouch. Or even create a bag.
h. A lehenga set.
i. A stunning looking jacket that can be worn over your ethnic kurta or formal white shirt and pants.
j. Dhoti pants.
If you don't want to wear it again yourself then why not create a gown, skirt or lehenga set for your child.
