Jewellery is an important accessory for every Indian bride. But there is a wide range of jewellery options available around us that there are lots of chances that we may pick the wrong type.
Follow these useful tips if you don't want to regret picking up the wrong piece of jewellery.
The main and foremost element to consider while shopping for anything is the budget. Consider the amount you are planning to spend on the wedding jewellery. There is no definite rule like you should buy all your wedding jewellery from a single jeweller.
Don't rush on buying jewellery, take your time and check with various sources before zeroing in on a particular jeweller. You need to have a clear idea of the kind of jewellery you are planning to pair with your wedding attire.
If you are wearing a heavy brocade saree then it will look fabulous if paired with antique temple jewellery. But the same antique pieces may not look perfect with a designer type saree. So consider your attire while deciding on ornaments.
As we said there are no rules such as you need to buy all the ornaments from the same jeweller and that too on the same day. So take time and check out all available pieces at the jewellery that will go with your wedding attire and of course budget.
There are also chances that some particular jewellers may be frisking money out of you in the name of making charges so ask around and find out the place where you don't lose much money in the name of the making charge.
Another point to consider is on deciding whether to buy an ornament with precious or semi-precious jewellery or without it. Diamonds will sparkle more when set in white gold than the yellow gold, but if you are buying a white gold diamond set then your wedding attire should have less zari work.
If your budget doesn't allow you to choose ornaments with precious stones then you can opt for semi-precious stones like amber, amethyst, quartz, azurite etc... They will sure give your ornaments a grand look but won't put a hole in your pocket like the precious stone jewellery.
