Things to remember before selecting your wedding venue

Organising a wedding involves so many elements, one of which is choosing the right venue. There are certain points to be followed while selecting and booking a venue for your wedding.

The most important point should be the date you are planning to tie the knot. So as soon as it is finalised check for venues that are available on the date. We only said checking, that doesn't mean that you should book the first venue available. Make a list of the venues available and make inquiries about the rate, seating capacity and amenities.

The venue should be selected based on factors such as the number of wedding guests, as various venues have different seating capacities. Next, fix an amount you are willing to spend on the wedding hall, and then make a list of venues that you have scouted earlier. Now select the venues that are close to your budget, the number of guests and the facilities you want.

The proximity of the venue to your place should also be considered as it will decide on the amount you will have to shell out while transporting the guests to and from the venue. Another point is if you are planning to conduct the religious ceremony at a place and the wedding reception at another place then make sure that your two venues are closer to each other.

Don't blindly book the venue for all your pre and post wedding functions. Make another list based on the number of guests you want to invite for the pre and post wedding functions furthermore book the venue based on that. Sometimes you may not need such a big venue for all the wedding related functions. So check for other smaller halls for those functions.

Before making the booking, check whether the venue also provides the services of a chef or you need to hire caterers from outside and also either they will do the decoration and the cost for each additional services. Parking facilities should also be checked before booking to evade chaos on the wedding day.

If you want to save on the decor then select a venue which has stylish architecture as it will give an ambience that would help to create a mood for the function. If it is a theme wedding see whether the ambience of the venue you are planning to select will suit the theme you have selected.
