Trendy Maang Tikkas!
Maang tikka is an indispensable part of the Indian bride's jewelry box. This unique piece of jewelry gives a certain amount of charm and elegance to the bride.
Not just the brides it can also be worn by any woman for any special occasion.
Maang tikkas have been the Indian brides' trusted companion for centuries.
There are wide varieties of maang tikkas available in our country. Basically, a maang tikka has a dangling pendant on one end and a chain with a hook on the other end which is fixed on to the hair.
According to Indian traditions, a maang tikka is worn in a way that it rests on the sixth chakra, which is the space between the eyebrows.
There are single round-shaped ones like the 'bor' worn by the Rajasthani women, single strand ones, and those which have two strings on each side. Some have side panels which add certain pomp and elegance to your wedding look. Layered and tiara type maang tikkas are also available in the market. They are usually made of gold, silver, pearl or crystal materials. For a more royal look, you can wear a maang tikka with kundan stones.
Meanwhile, the Muslim, especially Pakistani brides, wear 'jhumar tikka' which is a fan-shaped hair ornament worn in a way that it would dangle on the side of the bride's hair.
