Perfect Gown For Your D-Day!

If you are a bride it is your right to outshine everyone on the big day of your life. For that, you should select your wedding dress with expertise and finesse. Saree has been the safest pick for Indian brides for decades. But now you have the freedom to wear any attire you are comfortable with on your wedding day.

Hindu brides are still following the tradition of wearing the six-yard to tie the knot. But if you are a Christian bride you can be the star of the day like a fairytale princess in your wedding gown. So if you have decided to wear a gown on your big day you need to take care of some tips before zeroing in on the dress.

You have to select a gown according to your body type. People have different body types so don’t go for a particular gown just because someone else looks good in it. Know your body, talk to an expert and then only decide your dress.

Here are some tips which could help you in finding your dream dress.

For hourglass figure
Take advantage of your proportioned curves. You can go for a mermaid or a trumpet gown which would highlight your curves.

For tall brides
You are blessed with height so you can actually go for the fairytale type ball gowns. A ball gown will have a fitted bodice with a full, bell-shaped, floor-length skirt. You can also add a long veil to your look. You will also look good in mermaid gowns because of your height. But avoid high updos because it will add more height.

For short brides
If you are short and petite empire line would help you to cover the problem areas. The waistline starts just below the bust and the rest of the dress flows down to the hem. This gown could also help to minimize large bust due to the traditionally square neckline of the dress. But avoid horizontal patterns.

For that pear-shaped body
Choose a floor-length skirt that flares out in an A from your natural waist. It would help you to cover big hips and thighs. A V neckline will also help you to balance the upper portion.

For apple shape
Your weight is mainly around the waist so choose A-line gowns which would highlight your waist. A ribbon around the waist or a corset could add the illusion of a waistline. A V-neck is also a good option.

For busty woman
A scooped neckline would take the focus away from your chest. You should avoid materials such as silk, satin, and organza. Balance your top with a full skirt.

For those box-shaped women
You should go for a dress which could create an illusion of curves. You need to add volume so look for a ball gown with a full skirt that would cling to your natural waist. It could hide your lack of curves.
