Wedding bells are ringing from the Indonesia!
'Jakarta' welcomed 2019 with a mass Wedding ceremony for 500 Indonesian couples.
The city's government has organized the event for poor families, who often do not have official documents such as birth certificate and marriage certificate.
Anies Baswedan, local governor said that the legally organized Wedding helps parents and children to access public services such as health care and education.
The reason behind the selection of New Year eve:
"If they celebrate their Wedding, everyone will celebrate it. The whole World", he added.
The oldest groom at the event was a 76 year old man and the oldest bride was 65 while the youngest pair was 19 years.
It is the second time that Jakarta government has held a mass Wedding on New Year Eve. A report says that about 110 marriage registrars were there to take care the documentation of the newlyweds.
