A vintage looking celebrity wedding!
Yes, that's what actress Muktha George's wedding can be described in a few words. Mukta, who made her debut in the Malayalam film 'Achanurangatha veedu', married Rinku Tomy, brother of playback singer Rimi Tomy, at St George Forane Church, Edapally, Ernakulam on August 30, 2015.
Muktha, who wore a traditional Mundu for her wedding, had told the media after her engagement that: “This is a love-cum-arranged marriage and was decided by our parents some time back, although the date was fixed recently".
The actress currently has her hands full with the promotion of her upcoming Tamil film 'Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga' and a couple of other stage shows. The actress revealed that the 'getting-hitched' feeling has not sunk in yet.
“I wasn’t planning to get married so soon and wanted it to be late next year, but the families wanted to get us married and decided everything," she said. When asked about her love story, Muktha said, “Well I can't say this is a love marriage. Our families knew each other and I have done a lot of shows with Rimi chechi. It was Rinku who arranged everything during all those shows. That is how we got to know each other and thankfully, we got along really well. Once we felt there's a spark between us, we decided to speak to both our parents, who readily agreed to it.”
But, will she stop acting after marriage? "No," the pretty lass responded, “I will be acting as long as I can. Even Rinku supports me in the matter. As Rimi chechi is in the same industry, their family very well know about it. The fact is Rimi chechi became more active in the field after her wedding. So, I also wouldn't put a full stop to my career just because I am getting married. I just feel blessed to be part of their family.”
Muktha said she wanted it to be a low-key affair. The actress said, “I know celebrity weddings are not simple functions, but we planned it to be a plain function with just a few friends and family. People these days are spending a lot on their weddings. However, we opted for a simple wedding. I always wanted to dress up in our traditional attire 'Chatta and Mundu' ”
