Indian couple got married in train created history

We have heard stories of the couple getting married on air, on the top of Mount Everest, under the water and what more. This time it’s a history that has been created in the list of firsts. Jyotsana Singh Patel and Sachin Kumar, an Indian couple from Uttar Pradesh have tied the knot in a moving train, for the first time in the history of Indian Railway. The event was solemnized by none other than the spiritual leader Shri Shri Ravi Shankar who was also on the train for a yatra to Uttar Pradesh.

Sachin is a Pharmacist while Jyotsana works for the tax department. They both showed a path for the Indians who run behind big fat weddings. The couple exchanged garlands and completed the vows while guru Ravishanker recited the mantras. The whole coach was decorated with flowers.

The founder of The Art of Living group, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar said that we should encourage more simple weddings like this and parents taking a loan for their daughter’s wedding should be avoided. Whether the couple is a part of his spiritual entourage is still unknown. The Railways said that the marriage was fixed for April and it was advanced on the advice of guru Ravishanker and the couple agreed to get married on the spot. They both were in casuals and a co-passenger offered Jyotsana a saree to change from her salwar kameez. They both were supported by co-passengers and got ready in the AC Class compartment with the help of railway staff.

Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) commenced a special train service to make the dream of conducting a wedding ceremony on a train accessible to everyone in 2017. Golden Chariot luxury train of KSTDC is the one that has been introduced with this vision of having wedding functions in a train. Everything from wedding decorations, transport, priest, mehndi, sangeet and reception ceremony is a part of this plan by the Karnataka Government. We have to wait and see how many more couples dare to do this in future.

We at wedding street wish Sachin and Jyotsana a Happy Married Life!
