Planning for your best friend’s wedding can be a nightmare for you. There is a lot to plan from attire to make up. You want to be as prettier as possible and still not overdo it and be the eyes grabber of the event. But, keep in mind that you should never upstage the bride.  You must have already survived a couple of panic attacks thinking about the same. Your wardrobe must be upside down by now and your shopping budget has been mismatching from the day you came to know about her wedding. This is a simple guide for wiping away all your worries. You are assured to look your best for your all-time favorite wedding.

Look into this modest piece of wisdom that can make your day special.

Check for the Theme

You have to confirm whether it is a theme wedding or not. If there are colors mentioned, half of your concern is lessened .If it is Hawaii themed, you have to dress accordingly. Also look for the destination of the wedding. If it is a beach wedding, your dress should match it up. Wearing something out of theme may make you embarrassed and left out from the crowd. There is a thin line of being unique and awkward. This should be defined properly for every function.

Never be too casual

Unless asked for, keep your track suits or jeans at home. Being too casual for a formal function can make you the odd. Some people may mistake you for disrespecting them or taking their invitation too lightly. For a Hindu or Muslim wedding, try to be traditional and not too modern. If it’s a Christian wedding, you can go for dresses or modern outfit. Do not wear slippers or floaters for a wedding. Go for formal shoes or sandals that goes well with the outfit you wear.

Colors do matter

The color choice of your attire should depend on the time of wedding function. If it is in the morning, go for light shades and nude make up. If it is at night, black or red can make you look dashing. Indian weddings do not mind splashy bright colors even for a morning function. Always dress completely before you reach the venue. You should not be half dressed and expect to dress on the spot. If you cannot dance on your heels, you can carry your dancing shoes in a packet.

When in doubt, go for semi-formal

If there is no indication in the invitation about the dress code, you can talk to the bride/groom about their expectation. If there is nothing like a dress code and you are too confused, you can go for semi-formals. You will not look odd in any circumstance. If every other person is wearing traditional, you may still get along. You can also choose different colors for different function related to the wedding. Yellow can be best for haldi ceremony, green shades for Mehndi and red for wedding function, if it is a traditional Indian Hindu wedding. Wear the dresses you are comfortable with. If you cannot carry an off shoulder, never try it on a wedding function. You should not be going to washroom every other minute to check your dress. Also, if you are unsure of walking in a saree or high heels, practice it well before you wear it on a wedding. Remember that confidence and smile can be the best attire you can wear for making everything your way.

Accessorize Wisely

Since weddings are the only time you can use those heavy necklaces and shoulder touching earrings, do not look like a Christmas tree. You should balance your look for looking good. If you are wearing a full neck stone work necklace, go easy with the choice of your earring. This will ease out the look you are trying to carry. Also, be careful with the shoes you are wearing. Will you look perfect in a sneakers under a beautiful lehenga? Also, do not forcefully wear gold if your outfit has all silver work. This may look very bad on your dressing sense. If you cannot avoid gold accessories, choose your attire accordingly. Your makeup and hairdo should also compliment your attire to get that complete look.
