Here is a simple tutorial to make a birdcage veil for your wedding day.
2-meter veil fabric - tulle
1 feet veil fabric
Needle and white thread
A hair comb - metal or plastic
Ruler to measure
Any embellishments - such as white appliqué flowers which if you want can be decorated with pearls or stones.
First, cut a strip of the tulle from the second set. Tie the material to the comb and wrap it around each tooth of the fabric.
Once you reach the end of the comb turn it around and wrap the fabric all the way back down to where you started and tie a knot. You should trim the excess fabric.
Now take the larger tulle and cut the top corners. Now start sewing in and out of the whole fabric. It is done to tie the loose ends of the fabric.
Now gather the ends of the fabric gently and stitch the gathered part together. It will resemble a cap now. Now using the needle and thread attach the gathered part of the veil to the comb.
You can decorate it with appliqué flowers. Stitch or glue it over the comb where the veil is attached to the comb.
Your DIY birdcage veil is now aisle-ready.
