Maang tikkas are important bridal jewellery that is used to adorn the forehead. In fact, it can be called as a beautiful and essential bridal hair accessory. But maang tikkas are not the only kind of hair accessory that a bride wears to adorn her hair. There are variant forms of jewellery that you could wear to adorn your hair and one such ornament is paasa or jhoomer.

Passa or jhoomar is also a kind of hair accessory that instead of adorning the forehead dangles from the side of the forehead. It could give the bride a totally different but charming look.

Jhoomar or paasa has got a regal look and makes the bride look like a stunning princess.  It would give you a vintage look.

Paasa is a traditional piece of jewellery and like the haath phools, it also made its entry into the Indian brides' jewellery box from Persia during the Mughal period.

Earlier, only the Muslim brides used to wear paasa or jhoomar because of its Mughal-Persian connection; but nowadays many Hindu brides are opting for it instead of the maang tikka or sometimes pair the paasa with the maang tikka.

As the Hindu and Muslim brides use maang tikkas or paasas to adorn their hair the Christian brides wear stunning tiaras to give themselves a royal look.

Here are some stylish jhoomars or paasas for you to get inspired.
