Phuket in Thailand recently was the venue for a big fat Kerala wedding. The marriage of Sasikala, a Dubai-based businesswoman, and Britto, an engineer, was held in Phuket with all aplomb and panache.
The bride's father T S Kaladharan, chairman of the Dubai-based Consolidated Shipping Services Group, wanted to make his daughter's grand wedding a magical experience for the guests and didn't have to think twice while selecting the destination. He had been to Phuket many times and had fallen in love with the place.
After conducting the engagement ceremony in Kerala, Kaladharan and his wife Devika hired the services of Rainmaker Event Planners and the rest was taken care by them. A team of wedding planners visited Phuket for arranging the wedding.
They also created a website www.sasikalabritto.com to give the guests a clear cut picture of the destination wedding. It also helped the guests to interact with the wedding team and clear any doubts.
The wedding planners hired the services of make-up expert Pallavi Devika from Delhi and celebrity chef Naushad and his team prepared the sumptuous Kerala sadhya for around 500 guests, who were flown in from many parts of the world. The wedding crew consisted of 90 members, including photographers, videographers, and pandits.
A mehndi ceremony was conducted on the wedding-eve and the guests were entertained by bands such as Thaikkoodam Bridge and Masala Coffee.
Though the wedding was in traditional Kerala style, a Thai-style ceremony also followed the wedding. The wedding entertainers included Stephen Devassy, Haricharan and Natalie Di Lucci.
While Sasikala heads the marketing division of the family’s shipping service business, the groom is the son of Satheesh Kuttiyil and Saira.
