Tips for the Bride
For a bride, hands are almost as much in focus as her face. The bridal Mehendi and wedding ring will be the cynosure of all eyes. Special treatments and pampering are required for the hands. Few weeks before the wedding, one should start taking care of the hands and nails. Apart from getting a manicure, follow a particular hand care regimen to get soft hands and beautiful nails. Massage your hands with a drop of coconut oil at night and push the cuticles back with a cotton bud. This will keep them soft and stimulate nail growth. Before going to bed, soak your hands in warm olive oil infused with one capsule of Vitamin E. After 10 minutes, massage the hands well. If the hands are tanned, go for a bleach treatment.
Here are some more tips to keep your hands soft and beautiful:
Massage hand cream on your cuticles regularly. This will help in combating extra skin growth and prevent dry cuticles from tearing.
Exfoliate hands once a week with a scrub for soft and smooth skin.
File and buff your nails regularly to keep them evenly shaped.
Regularly paint your nails and add a top coat.
For the wedding, apply a bright nail paint to go with Indian outfits.
A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for your fingernails and hands which can be done at home or in a nail salon. A manicure consists of filing, the shaping of the rough edges, massage and application of polish. There are different types of manicure available. A French manicure features a clear, pale pink or beige polish over the entire nail and white polish along the tip. A paraffin manicure is a must for anyone with dry hands. Paraffin or heated wax infuses the skin with instant moisture and leaves it smooth and supple. A European manicure is simple, but pampering nonetheless where the hands are soaked in a blend of herbs and water.
Lingerie forms the most important part of the bride’s trousseau. The would-be bride can demand and choose a style from diverse brands of lingerie that offers innovative designs. For the bridal lingerie, an essential feature should be silk, satin, and lace. However, microfiber, lycra and net and many other blends that give style and comfort are also available. Many international brands are into the fray like M&S, La Senza, Lovable, Enamour, Jockey, Underlines, Victoria’s Secret, Triumph and Vanity Fair to provide high quality, durable eye-catching, and fashionable bridal lingerie. The market is saturated with Indian and regional brands like Juliet, Daisy Dee and Rupa Softline, Groversons, and Bodyline.
Hot colours like red and maroon are all-time favourites, but fuchsia, pink, turquoise and ivory, gold are also catching up in India. Bridal lingerie is mostly available in matching sets that can be two pieces, 6 pieces, 8 pieces and even up to 16 pieces.
Daring matching lingerie sets may include different styles like cross back, halter bras, push-ups, demi-cups, corsets, or seamless pantyhoses or g-strings. A complete bridal night set can have a combination of pieces, which may include a short top, chemise babydoll, lungie, PJs, nighties of various lengths and a gown.
For nightwear, the material used can be mix and match of silk, satin, and can include georgette and chiffon too. Most multi-national brand’s innerwear starts from Rs 2,000.
