Little Cayman, the smallest island among the three islands that make the Cayman Islands, is known as 'an island getaway'. This beautiful island is a nature lover's dream. There are many secluded and unspoilt beaches, many lagoons, ponds and orchid forests. The whole island is about 16 km long and with an average width of 2 km.
The island has very a few inhabitants and is perfect for honeymooners who love to have complete privacy while they enjoy the pristine beaches, a dip in the sea and the tropical wilderness. It is a great place to enjoy deep sea diving and Bloody Bay Wall Marine Park and Jackson's Bight are the most famous diving sites. The island has got diving sites that are as shallow as 20 feet.
Other than the beaches you can enjoy a ride with your partner on a rented bike and explore this little island. You could also enjoy swimming at the deep blue lagoons and that too in complete privacy. The Little Cayman Island is also a paradise for bird watchers.
There is a Booby Pond Nature Reserve that has a large population of red-footed booby. The best time to photograph these birds is during the sunset; you may also witness a fight between boobies for territory during the sunset.
The tiny islet Owen which lies south-west of Little Cayman can be reached by boat or kayak. It is a big hit among the honeymooners as the islet doesn't have any man-made structures and is completely blessed by nature.
The Little Cayman is also famous for its exotic marine life that includes, lobster, eagle rays, octopus, reef sharks, and a wide variety of tropical fishes, which you could explore while snorkelling here with your partner.
