The Himalayan country Nepal is bordered by China and India. The tallest peak in the world Mout Everest or Sagarmatha is in Nepal and is also the birthplace of Gautama Buddha.

Snow-capped mountains, alluring landscape and rich cultural heritage make Nepal a beautiful honeymoon destination. While you are here you should spend some time in the capital city Kathmandu to explore the historic and scenic attractions here.

The places of interest in Kathmandu include Swayambhu aka Monkey Temple a Buddist pilgrim centre that is located on a hill with a large stupa and lots of holy monkeys, Boudha Stupa in Boudha, Narayanhiti Palace Museum, Pashupatinath temple, Garden of Dreams and Budda Neelkanth Temple. There are also opportunities for adventurous activities such as trekking in the Kathmandu Valley, bungy jumping and mountain flights.

The Nagarkot is the best spot to enjoy the Himalayas as it offers the broadest views of the mountain range. The sight of the sun's golden rays touching the Himalayan peaks is a sight to behold. The place is surrounded by lush green forests.

The Chitwan National Park in the districts of Nawalparasi, Parsa, Chitwan and Makwanpur is a UNESCO world Heritage Site. The park has both tropical and subtropical vegetation with riverines, grasslands and sal forests. It also has a wide and diverse flora and fauna distribution. It is very popular among the tourists and the visitors could enter the park from the town Sauraha and many hotels, resorts and tour agencies here offer jungle treks and elephant safaris. It is also a paradise for ornithologists.

The Langtang National Park is also a great place for trekking and jungle safaris. There is also a couple of old monasteries and alluring landscape to entertain the visitors.

Annapurna Region is another popular trekking region in Nepal. The Pokhara valley that is nestled amidst the Annapurna Himalayan Range is also a tourist attraction.
From day hikes to the Himalayas to a close encounter with the snow clad mountains various kinds of trekking are available in Nepal.

The birth place of Gautama Buddha Lumbini is in the Kapilavasta region of Nepal. It is about 250 km away from Kathmandu and this pilgrim town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Maya Devi Temple here which is dedicated to Buddha's mother is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

The Mahendra Gupha in Pokhara is a large limestone cave that is also known as the house of bats. It is a rare cave system that contains stalagmites and stalactites. There is also a statue of Lord Shiva inside the cave.

Another popular destination near Pokhara is the Davis Fall or Pataley Chhango (underworld waterfall) a beautiful waterfall that forms an underground tunnel at the bottom of the waterfall.
