 Uttarakhand 

The hilly state Uttarakhand is known for its scenic beauty as well as many pilgrim centres. The place has got endless natural beauty as well as enchanting charm. The place undoubtedly weaves a magical spell around its visitors, especially honeymooners.

As we said the place is blessed by nature without any constraint and about 86 percent of the state is mountainous and about 65 percent is covered by forests. The mighty Himalayas give the state many majestic peaks and glaciers. The rivers Ganga and Yamuna have their origin in Uttarakhand.

One of the most famous holiday spots in Uttarakhand is Dehradun. It is the capital of this beautiful state and is situated in the Doon valley at the foothills of Himalayas. The pleasant weather and the picturesque landscape make it a wonderful place for honeymooners.

Places of interest include Sahastradhara which boasts of spectacular waterfalls, caves, grasslands and stunning landscape, the tiger reserve Rajaji National Park, the famous river cave Robber’s Cave, Tiger Falls, the highest direct waterfall in India, Malsi Deer Park among many others.

Mussoorie is a hill station about 35 km from Dehradun. The place is famous for its cool climate and snow clad mountains. The nature walk Camel;'s Back Road, Gun Hill, Kempty Falls,  Bhatta Falls, Cloud's End, Lal Tibba, Happy Valley and Jharipani Falls are some of the best places to visit in Mussoorie.

Nainital is another popular hill station in Uttarakhand. It is situated at an altitude of 1938 m above sea level and consists of scenic beauty, the great snowy range of mountains and cool climate. While you are here don't miss Eco Cave Gardens, Himalayan Point,  Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary, Snow View, Lands End, Naina Peak and  Naini Lake.

Jim Corbett National Park, the eco-tourist destination and the oldest national park in India, is located in the Nainital district. The national park includes many hills, streams, marshy grasslands and a lake. It is also the natural habitat of Bengal tigers, leopards and elephants.

Another must visit destination is the ski destination Auli. It is located about 8,200 ft above the sea level and is surrounded by oak and coniferous forests. The slopes of Auli are famous for skiing and it also offers cable car rides.

Other places of interest in Uttarakhand include Almora, Kausani, Pithoragarh,  Chandak and Ranikhet.

For the adventurous couples there are plenty of opportunities for trekking, paragliding, camping, mountain biking, rafting etc..
