Weddings are considered as the best opportunity to showcase your fashionable side. But that doesn't mean you have to blindly follow what others are doing. Find a style you are comfortable in.
Another thing you need to consider is the theme or location of your wedding. If you are having a theme-based wedding you need to select outfits which suit the theme. The colour should also gel with the theme.
Even though you are having a theme wedding the rituals may be based on age-old traditions, so you have to keep that in mind while selecting the dress. If you have the means to have a destination wedding to go with the theme then you can experiment with your looks accordingly.
If you are having a beach wedding but are following the Hindu wedding traditions it is better to keep your attire, makeup and jewellery. If you dress up like a Rajput princess for a beach wedding it would look odd. So keep it simple and find a colour to match the location. It would be better to avoid loud colours. Find something in cream, red or beige or a combination of these.
You can also have a Christian wedding at a beach. You can wear a white gown. To get a more beach look you can experiment with the length of your gown. Instead of a flowing long gown with a long train, you can opt for a tea-length dress with a headband veil or get a bohemian look wear a floral headband instead of the veil.
Another thing to take into consideration is the footwear. Better to keep off from heels it would cause problems to your movements. Select ballet shoes that would chic as well as comfortable. For other brides wear a flat sandal.
You can deck up like a princess if you are having a royal themed wedding. Royal weddings are known for their lavish decor and style so going for a simple look won't go well with such a theme. So you can go that extra mile while dressing for your wedding. Rich colours with the combination of gold will go well with this theme.
